Yup – You’re not the only one thinking where did the time go!
Don’t worry though, the intention of this e-news is to point you to exactly where you need to look to find out everything you need to know ahead of the 2017 Whai Ora Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race in Taupo. With so much to take on board, let’s get right to it –
UPDATED & NOW COMPREHESIVE LIST OF FAQ & ANSWERS
We have added to the FAQ’s we published in our last (Early March) e-news, making a comprehensive list which we have added to the ‘Race Rules & FAQ’ page of the event website here. Be sure to have a good read through this page to familiarise yourself with the race rules and get answers to all your likely questions before you do anything else.
FINAL TEAM WAVE START TIMES
The final updated team start wave list will pop up on the event website on Friday 24th March 2017, under ‘Information’ on the main menu bar and on the ‘Timetable’ drop down sub-menu here . If you have any changes, please refer to our FAQ (see above).
STARBOARD HAVE A GO / DEMO A SUP
At the same time as the ‘Small Group Lessons’ above, Starboard will also be running a free have-a-go/demo a board opportunity continuously from 9am-12pm. There are 10 boards available, plus a few race boards. Women are welcome to just drop in and wait for a turn, no bookings are required. This is a great opportunity to try a few different boards, get rid of some last minute wobbles, or test one if you are thinking about buying a board.
STARBOARD SUP SMALL GROUP LESSON BOOKINGS & DETAILS
Similarly, final online bookings for Victoria Stuart’s SUP small group lessons throughout the morning of Friday 3st March will shortly also be found under ‘Information’ on the main menu bar and on the ‘Timetable’ drop down sub-menu here. Victoria Stuart from Starboard will be in email contact early next week with all women booked to confirm the venue.
YOGA SESSION BOOKINGS AS THEY STAND
Get into the zone’ Yoga class online bookings have now closed, however late bookings will be taken at the registration Expo subject to space in sessions. For bookings as they stand, please see below –

WHAI ORA SPIRITED WOMEN CLOTHING IS COMING
Below is a sneak design preview of the Whai Ora Spirited Women trail jersey and shorts we hope to
land pre-event. We plan to have 50 units of each in varying sizes available for purchase at the event
Registration Expo at a one-time only special price of $74 for the jersey, $84 for the shorts or $149 for
the pair. Note: One complete set of each size will be kept as a sample for sizing purposes, so if you
miss out getting an item in your size, we can take your order, do a second print run and courier out
them to you post-race. No pre-expo orders sorry. Payment by Cash or Eftpos Bank Cards
(no Credit Cards).

FUNDRAISE TO HELP MOVE OVER CANCER & WIN
The Whai Ora Spirited Women Adventure Race has formed a relationship with PINC & STEEL –
Cancer Rehabilitation Trust.
The PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Programs provide individualized, prescribed rehabilitation to
women and men diagnosed with cancer; helping them heal as well as possible, and function at optimal
levels through every stage of their treatment and recovery. They are specifically designed to help
maximize recovery, regain physical and emotional strength, and improve body confidence and control.

We encourage teams to set-up an ‘Everyday Hero’ fundraising site at the link above and raise money
for the cause.
To motivate you to fund raise we have teamed with our event sponsors to offer a wonderful prize for
the team with the greatest number of donations and the team who raises the most money. Get into it!
After weeks of days and nights all rolling into one, we feel like we have been doing a continuous
expedition style adventure race. Busy?… umm – I think we need a new word to describe these
mad times. It’s not long before we see you all at the event registration expo, but before we do we would
greatly appreciate it if you could read the website thoroughly (particularly the Race Rules & FAQ page)
so you are up to speed on everything. Remember – preparation is key.
