The sixth edition of the Spirited Women — All Women’s Adventure Race in the North Island will be held out of Whangarei from Friday 12th – Sunday 14th March 2021. With the registration/expo and awards venues secured in Whangarei, we suggest teams look for accommodation in the Whangarei CBD or nearby.

Whangarei is the northernmost city in New Zealand and the regional capital of Northland Region. The Whangarei District is made up of four broad areas – the outstanding coastal areas; Bream Bay, Whangarei Heads peninsula and the Tutukaka Coast. The small attractive city is nestled between forest-clad hills at the heart of the Whangarei Harbour and nowhere in the District is more than 40 kilometres from the coast. With about 2000 hours of sunshine every year and having the warmest city in New Zealand, Whangarei locals and visitors enjoy outdoor activities all year round.

Discover all the great things to do & see in subtropical Whangarei; love the spectacular beaches and walks, swim, dive, kayak or build a sandcastle. Enjoy great coffee and food, swing a golf club, cast a fishing line, shop at boutique markets and visit gorgeous galleries and fascinating museums.
