SPIRITED WOMEN REGISTERED FOR THE 2020 NORTH ISLAND EVENT

Hi Spirited Women,

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy in this uncertain time.

Thank you for your patience over the last couple of weeks in allowing us the time to work through the implications of having to cancel the 2020 North Island Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race in Central Hawke’s Bay. We have purchased event cancellation insurance for every edition of the Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race event. Unfortunately this insurance did not cover Pandemics such as the Covid-19 virus. We have done our best to retrieve funds back from venues, contractors, suppliers, etc. and whilst we are not obliged to offer refunds under our entry terms and conditions, we have made a decision to return the unspent portion of entry fees we received.

We are now in the position to offer your team one of two options;

  • Option 1. A partial credit with priority entry into your next Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race in 2021 (either Northland or Marlborough)
  • Option 2. A partial refund by way of direct credit to your nominated bank account

To ensure the longevity of the Spirited Women – Women’s Adventure Race we would dearly love you to choose the first option. We have made the partial credit a higher monetary value to encourage more teams to take this option at the event company’s cost. However, the choice is ultimately yours to make depending on your team’s circumstances.

We would love to be able to refund more of your event entry fee; however, given we were less than two weeks out from race weekend, meant that a large amount of money was already committed to costs of running the event. We recognise that your team has still invested a significant amount into an event that did not take place, although for reasons well beyond the control of any of us.  We are truly sorry for this.

Partial credit with priority entry into a 2021 event

Your team can choose the partial credit (by means of a discount code) with a priority entry to either the 2021 North Island or the 2021 South Island Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race. The value of your credit will differ related to the event that you had entered.

  • Long: $611 per team (equates to $152.75 per person)
  • Medium: $556 per team (equates to $139.00 per person)
  • Short: $501 per team (equates to $125.25 per person)

We are currently planning the next Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Races in the North and South Island. However, we need to be mindful while the Covid-19 virus is still active around the world.  We will continue planning in the background and will keep in contact with updates on our website, Facebook and email.

We hope to open entries for the 2021 North Island event on Tuesday 2nd June 2020 at 7:00am.

At this time, both the Northland and the Marlborough online entries will be open to our 2020 Central Hawke’s Bay teams only. All teams who opt to receive the partial credit will receive an email with a promotional code and link to the entry platform, with a two-week window of time to register. After Tuesday 16th June 2020 at 7:00am, both North and South Island online entries will be open to everyone.

If this is the option your team would prefer, you do not need to do anything more. Kezia will be in touch via email on Wednesday 27th May 2020 with your promotional code and link to the soon to be opening priority entries.

Partial monetary refund (available to accept until 12noon Monday 18th May 2020)

The value of your partial monetary refund will differ related to the event that you entered.

  • Long: $431 per team (equates to $107.75 per person)
  • Medium: $376 per team (equates to $94.00 per person)
  • Short: $321 per team (equates to $80.25 per person)

If the partial monetary refund is the option your team prefers, we ask that your team captain emails Kezia before Monday 18th May 2020 with the following details;

In the subject line put: ‘2020 Partial monetary refund’

And then in the body of the email include the following information…

  1. Your name (team captain’s only please)
  2. Your team bib number
  3. Your team’s race category (Long, Medium, Short)
  4. Your bank account number

We will endeavour to process your refund quickly, and Kezia will let you know when this has happened. If you do not receive an email confirmation of your refund within 7 days, please contact us again.

With respect to receiving your 2021 event merchandise, we will be sending this out to team captains as soon as we are able. At this current time, we are somewhat restricted by the nationwide lock-down in place.  A wee reminder for all team captains, please ensure that your postal address is correct in their Event Plus profile here by 31st March.

Regarding the future Central Hawke’s Bay event, we are looking at returning in the summer of 2022, but we’ll keep you updated once confirmed.
