7:00pm – 9:00pm – Release of race notes, CP descriptions, & maps.

Note: Only one person per team (wearing a team race bib) should line up to collect their teams race notes, CP descriptions & maps to reduce congestion.

Any questions teams may be asked and will be answered in person before 9:00pm.

Evening race briefings have been replaced with a question-answer period to 9:00pm.


  • The course is entirely on Private Property. Any entrants spotted on the event course between on Friday 30th September and their allotted Start Time on Saturday 1st April will automatically forfeit their right to participate.
  • Timing Transponders must be worn around the ankle and Race Bibs are to be worn as the outer garment (over jackets, packs and life vests etc), from the moment you leave your vehicle, throughout the race, to the finish.
  • Only cross timing mats under tents when ENTERING transitions, not exiting.

Bike drop

Bike Drop location TBC in the release of the race maps and notes.:

There will be no bike drop required on the Friday. Your team’s bikes are to be dropped off the morning of the event at a (to be disclosed) location found in your team’s race notes. 

All team’s bikes must be dropped at the designated location no later than 30 minutes before your team’s allocated wave start.

Please ensure you allow plenty of time for travel and arrive on time.

The only equipment, which can be left at the bike drop includes;

  • 4 x mountain bikes per team, with attached bike plates, lights and bike repair items/tools
  • 4 x helmets per team
  • Bike shoes, if using them
  • Food and drink bottles, attached to bike or in helmet/shoes

Note: Everything left at the bike drop must be collected on event day. Any teams spotted leaving anything behind will be deemed to be littering, and penalized in accordance with race rules.

Any teams with members under the age of 18 years must ensure there is a guardian or caregiver within the team responsible for their under-18 team member, as alcohol will be available at the finish area.

9:30am – 11:00am – Event awards ceremony and spot prize draw

TBC Wanaka venue – TBC in the release of the race maps and notes.

Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before the event awards ceremony and spot prize draw begins as all participants will need to be given a spot prize ticket. Please see the event staff giving these out on arrival. One ticket per person. Only event participants who are at the event awards ceremony are eligible to win a spot prize. My vaccine passes will be checked on entry. Supporters cannot attend.
