Please note: The weekend schedule for the 2022 event in Central Hawke’s Bay is a continual work in progress.

Friday 25th February 2022

12:00noon – 5:30pm – Event registration & expo

Pettigrew Arena, 480 Gloucester Street, Taradale, Hawke’s Bay

  • Team sign in (My vaccine passes and ID will be checked)
  • Final check of team details
  • Complete registration formalities
  • Pick-up teams race bibs, bike plates, & team electronic timing device
  • Collect team gift box full of goodies and event merchandise (included in entry fee)
  • Sponsors expo – try delectable samples, enter competitions and score some great deals on product from our sponsors

NOTE: All four team members will need to attend the Rego-Expo together. My Vaccine Passes and a form of photo identification (i.e., Drivers Licence or Passport) will be required by all. If there is a late change of team member, the new team member must also bring a completed and signed copy of the change of team member form and waiver. Bike drop (Saturday morning)

There will be no bike drop required on the Friday. Your team’s bikes are to be dropped off the morning of the event at a (to be disclosed) location found in your team’s race notes (released with race maps just prior to your team’s event briefing). 

All team’s bikes must be dropped at the designated location no later than 30 minutes before your team’s allocated wave start. Please ensure you allow plenty of time for travel, dropping off bikes, and signing in on race morning before your wave start.

The only equipment, which can be left at the bike drop includes;

  • 4 x mountain bikes per team, with attached bike plates, lights and bike repair items/tools
  • 4 x helmets per team
  • Bike shoes, if using them
  • Food and drink bottles, attached to bike or in helmet/shoes

Note: Everything left at the bike drop must be collected on event day. Any teams spotted leaving anything behind will be deemed to be littering, and penalized in accordance with race rules.

5:30pm – 8:45pm – Release of race notes, control cards, maps, and race briefings

Note: Teams must wear their bibs when collecting race notes, maps, control cards and CP descriptions, 30 minutes before their race briefing. Only one person per team should line up to collect the maps to reduce congestion.

This allows teams to briefly look at maps and notes and digest all the information prior to their allotted event category briefing time. Any questions teams may have will be answered at the race briefing.

It is essential that one team member attend their race briefing, but we strongly recommend the whole team be present so we can explain any further details if needed and answer anyone’s questions.

Note: Supporters are not permitted to attend the event briefings.

Saturday 26th February 2022

Open from 4:45am – 12:00pm – Bike drop

Secret location, which will be communicated to your team at the Event registration. 

All team’s bikes (with number plates attached, bike lights, drink bottles attached, helmet and bike shoe, if using them) must be dropped at a secret location 45-minutes before your allocated wave start.

9:30am – 11:00am – Event awards ceremony and spot prize draw

Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before the event awards ceremony and spot prize draw begins as all participants will need to be given a spot prize ticket.  Please see the event staff giving these out on arrival. One ticket per person. Only event participants who are at the event awards ceremony are eligible to win a spot prize. My vaccine passes will be checked on entry. Supporters cannot attend.
