Spirited Women Race Categories

Short Course (time range 3-6hrs)
An introduction to Adventure Racing., something all women can achieve.

  • Super easy map reading Navigation
  • Short beginner Stand-up Paddle Board (SUP boards/paddles an life vests are all provided)
  • Novice Non-technical Mountain Biking
  • Easy on & off-trail Trekking (running or walking)
  • Fun Mystery Activity – it wouldn’t be an adventure racing without one!

3hr Predicted winning team’s time.

All teams approximate finishing time range 3-6hrs

Loose distances: Up to 1-2k Paddle, 15-25k Mtb, 4-8km Trekking  

Note: We prefer not to focus on distances because speed over different terrain/water can vary so much, they can be misleading.

Medium Course (time range 6-12hrs)
For those who already have some fitness behind them and want to step-it up a notch. This course takes the adventure to the next level and provides something to get your teeth into.

  • Basic Navigation – Simple map reading with compass knowledge advantageous… unless you trust the team you are following!
  • Average stand-up Paddle Boarding skills & fitness (SUP boards/paddles an life vests are all provided)
  • Intermediate Mountain biking with the odd tricky bit thrown in for good measure – walking with your bike over or around these bits is fine.
  • Moderate on & off-trail Trekking – expect to get your feet wet!
  • Fun Mystery Activity – it wouldn’t be an adventure racing without one!

6hr Predicted winning team’s time.

All teams approximate finishing time range 6-12hrs

Loose distances: 2-3k Paddle, 30-40k Mtb, 8-12km Trekking

Long Course (time range 9-18hrs)
An epic adventure! Expect the unexpected, some hard core/gnarly bits, but it’s by no means a mission impossible! You don’t need to be an elite athlete but you do need to be prepared to be out there for the best part of the day – but that’s the fun of it right?

  • A little more challenging Navigation – good map reading with compass knowledge necessary… as teams can get well spread out at night!
  • Good kayaking and stand-up Paddle Boarding skills & fitness (Kayaks, SUP boards/paddles an life vests are all provided)
  • Adept at Mountain biking and up for anything!
  • Competent on & off-trail Trekking – positively adventurous… no walk in the park!
  • Fun Mystery Activity – it wouldn’t be an adventure racing without one!

Loose distances: 2-3k Paddle, 6-8k Kayak, 45-55k Mtb, 12-16km Trekking
